Our traditions teach us that no event in this world - and in life - happens without a specific reason. There is no doubt - that this period of lockdown, is to be used as a time for reflection.
Reflecting on where we find ourselves now in our lives; reflecting on the Almighty’s - gift of life to us and to the world; reflecting on how we can and MUST improve our lives.
The great sage Hillel says in Pirkei Avot - Ethics of the Fathers (1:14), “If not now, when?” There is no greater time or opportunity for reflection and introspection than during lockdown.
Friends, carve some time out of your day to sit still, breathe in and out slowly and deeply, listen to sounds of nature, connect with your loved ones, and, most important, express gratitude for all the countless blessings that you have in your life.
I am honoured to send you the SMALL JEWISH COMMUNITIES ASSOCIATION & AFRICAN JEWISH CONGRESS 2020 PESACH MESSAGES.
Wishing you all good health, safety & Happy & Liberating Pesach.
